Blade of the Azure Sky

During the restructuring of the Baotou Iron and Steel Plant in Inner Mongolia, a foreign company steals the patent for the national intangible cultural heritage technique of quenching Mongolian curved blades.

Engineer Wulan, heir to a family of blade-makers, discovers that the industrial spy is connected to the case of substandard steel that left her father crippled by an occupational injury. She joins forces with retired workers to lay a trap using the age-old Springwater Quenching Method. Baiting the thieves with a batch of special steel, they reveal the pattern of evidence on a blade in the flames at the steelworks' blast furnace reopening ceremony.
