Super Genius!

When the lively Su Nian declared, “I’ll beat you next time for sure,” on the first day of school, she had no idea that her bold words to Jiang Yi, the top student in their grade, would mark the beginning of their bond. A bet over breakfast brought the aloof academic star into her everyday school life. He helped her get sweet-and-sour ribs from the cafeteria, texted “Go to bed early” when she stayed up late doing practice problems, slipped her his notes covered in annotations, and even took her to the nurse’s office, awkwardly but firmly supporting her after she sprained her ankle. From desk mates constantly trying to outdo each other, to perfectly in-sync study partners, to two people unable to hide their growing feelings, their youth was filled with endless practice problems, limited-edition desserts they could never get their hands on, cheers at the school sports meet, and countless “coincidences” and special favors. Jiang Yi’s devotion was hidden in the details, while Su Nian’s joy was written all over her face. This campus romance, which began with a bet, was sweet from start to finish, turning their high school years into the happiest, most wonderful time of their lives.
