Deep Flame Discipline Unit: Captain, Please Sign for This Forbidden Spark

On Li Zheng's first day on the job, he sees Ling Yan vault into the top-floor command center atop a giant mountain lizard. A “special calming aid: pink panties” lands on his gleaming military boots. Her tousled black hair looks wild and unruly, and a fire-breathing squirrel pup perches on her shoulder.

The strictest captain in the history of the Deepflame Discipline Squad takes on its most frequently reprimanded genius handler.

When the whole team transmigrates through the maglev beastway to intercept a mechanical beast horde, Ling Yan leaves the group to save a dying patch of light moss.

“Your recklessness could get the entire squad killed!” Li Zheng's roar is cut short by a flood alert: she has just single-handedly stopped an A-rank Silent Flood.

When her former superior sets her up and frames her, Li Zheng tears up the discipline manual and investigates the truth. He discovers that the “Abyss Key,” which maintains the world's balance, lies dormant in her spine.

In the final battle in the Abyssal Rift, he shields her with his body and takes the spatial annihilation curse, his blood soaking through her battle suit.

“I give up...” His bloodied fingers stroke the delicate skin at the nape of her neck. “The rules must yield when it comes to protecting you, Ling Yan.”
