Detective Conan: From the Start, I Eat the Yellow Plum

The protagonist, Yun Chen, is also known as Tengyuan Yun.

This is the story of the immortal cultivator Tengyuan Yun, who takes a shortcut on his path to cultivation by eating a Huangzhong Plum and accidentally ends up in the world of Conan, after his master kicks him down to the mortal realm. Using a Japanese sweets shop as his base, he forges a unique path of “steadfastness of heart” between the immortal and mortal worlds. He kneads dough with spiritual energy and heals people’s hearts with desserts. He helps Conan solve strange cases involving spiritual forces, builds a family with Sonoko Suzuki, and raises their son, Tengyuan Xin, heir to both the immortal and mortal bloodlines.

From fighting the remnants of the Black Organization to calming the temporal turbulence caused by a time spirit dragon, he always blends “mortal feelings” with “immortal arts.” In the end, Twin Hearts Hall becomes a bridge between the two worlds. Hidden in the sweetness of Japanese confections is his ultimate realization that “the Way is found in everyday life”: true cultivation means holding on to your original purpose amid the bustle of daily life and passing warmth down from one generation to the next.
