Help! My Husband's Imagination Runs Wild

Everyday life, food, cultural differences, and family. Ariya Aono, a South Korean woman who marries into a Chinese family, finds herself with an inept husband, a scheming mother-in-law, an innocent father-in-law, twin sister-in-laws who are a lesbian couple, an eccentric younger brother-in-law, and a gay male best friend (allegedly). Ariya Aono, a cheerful girl from South Korea with a personality as bright as sunshine, arrives in China after getting married, dreaming of sampling all the delicious food in every street and alley. She never expects to crash headfirst into a lively, complicated “circle of people” surrounding her. Her husband is introverted and honest, but his inner monologue is more dramatic than a TV series. Even a casual smile from her can be interpreted as having eighteen layers of hidden meaning. Her mother-in-law seems delicate and breaks into tears at the drop of a hat, but in truth she’s more calculating than anyone, always flashing a meaningful smile when Ariya turns away. Her father-in-law is a stern, no-nonsense veteran, yet his ears quietly turn red when she praises his cooking. Then there are the twin younger sisters-in-law, who have had their eyes on her for years. Whenever they’re together, the possessiveness in their eyes practically spills over. Her reclusive younger brother-in-law hides from everyone, making her especially want to dote on him, but the male best friend who followed her from South Korea has started looking at him in a rather peculiar way... When a food-loving, optimistic Korean daughter-in-law meets a Chinese family full of “drama queens,” a chaotic yet heartwarming cross-cultural marriage comedy begins. Munching on candied hawthorn, Ariya looks at the family members, each with their own agenda, and licks her lips. “This might be... more interesting than I thought.” She hasn’t realized yet that she has already become the center of everyone’s attention.
