A framework for the novel “Dragon Raja: Jiang Nan Transmigrates into Lu Mingfei”
Genres: metafiction + transmigration + ensemble cast + deconstruction of the hot-blooded genre
I. The core premise
1. The real author transmigrates: Jiang Nan, who's been missing deadlines in the real world for ages, wakes up one day to find himself as “Lu Mingfei.” Not the original Lu Mingfei, but a “parallel-world loser” warped into existence by readers' resentment, with even one stroke missing from his name (Lu instead of Lu).
2. The rules of the world: This is a fan-fiction universe driven by “reader expectations.” The more popular the story, the stronger its characters; the more they're mocked, the more pathetic they become. Jiang Nan (called “Old Jiang” below) must set the broken story straight before its “trainwreck meter” maxes out, or he won't be able to return to the real world and finish his manuscript.
3. Built-in “author privileges”: Old Jiang can make tiny edits to the world as if he were writing a draft (up to 3,000 words a day), but any out-of-character writing reduces his “authenticity.” If his authenticity reaches zero, he'll become Lu Mingfei forever.
II. Arc outline
Volume One: “Restarting the Abandoned Draft”
· Hell from the start: Old Jiang arrives at the ending of “Dragon Raja V”: Nibelungen has collapsed, Chu Zihang has disappeared, Caesar has defected, and Nono is near death. Readers are up in arms, and the world's gloom level is at 90%.
· Mission to save himself, part one: Stop “Lu-Hui” and “Lu-Nuo” from both getting bad endings, or the angst meter will blow Tokyo straight into the Land of Fire.
· Restrictions: Old Jiang can only use skills Lu Mingfei already possesses, and his S-rank bloodline is under “reader scrutiny,” so his rank could drop at any moment.
As a fanfic, it's average. But as a fanfic about dragons, I think it's full marks. 💕
The writing is quite detailed and luxurious.
Although I haven't finished reading it yet, I felt it looked very good when I saw the title.
