Warhammer: Limbus Company, The Endless Crusade

The Great Crusade was one of the most magnificent and tragic chapters in human history. Launched by the Emperor of Mankind himself, it aimed to end the chaos and darkness of the “Old Night” and reunite humanity’s scattered colony worlds across the galaxy beneath the banner of the Imperium. After the end of the Golden Age, when human civilization splintered under the threat of warp storms and alien forces, the Emperor rose from Terra (Earth). Through his extraordinary wisdom and power, he united humanity’s homeworld and created the Primarchs and the Space Marine Legions. These genetically enhanced super-soldiers became the spearhead of the Great Crusade. Setting out from Terra, the Emperor and the Primarchs led millions of Space Marines and billions of mortal soldiers across countless star systems. They crushed alien empires such as the Orks and the Aeldari, put down rebellions on human worlds, awakened sleeping colonies, and brought technology and order back to untamed lands. At the height of the Crusade, the Imperium of Man reached its greatest extent, and countless worlds once again basked in the glory of “humanity triumphant.” Yet beneath the splendor, dark currents were gathering. The Primarchs’ ambition and suspicion, the whispers of the Chaos Gods, and the Emperor’s absolute grip on power ultimately erupted in the Horus Heresy. This civil war, ignited by Horus, the Emperor’s most beloved Primarch, tore the Imperium apart and ended the glory of the Great Crusade, plunging human civilization into endless war and despair. It set the tone for the dark universe of Warhammer 40,000. But hope still remains.
