The Idle Maid Wins by Marrying Into Good Fortune

I was a bride brought in to bring good fortune. My father was a fortune-teller, and he said my birth chart would bring my husband good luck. If I married into a wealthy, influential family, I could lie flat and still come out on top. The young heir of the Qingyuan Marquis household was gravely ill, so my father sent me there as his concubine. Before we parted, he gave me three brocade pouches and repeatedly cautioned me, “If you want to win, don’t fight!” I understood. With my background, who could I possibly beat in a fight? So of course I became a lazybones. And so I spent my days eating and sleeping. But when the lavish meat dishes were replaced with cabbage soup, I couldn’t stomach it anymore. This lazy fish was ready to turn over!
