I Was Reported the Day I Passed the Civil Service Exam

My best friend reported me on the very day I was about to pass the civil service exam and land a government job. The charge was that my grandfather had once been imprisoned, which caused me to fail the political background check. But after the leaders above conducted a thorough investigation, they discovered that my grandfather had been imprisoned for allegedly collaborating with the Communists. I laughed. Since when was that a black mark? It was the greatest honor of all!
