The Great Ming Mystery Under the Microscope

Chen Mo, a medical student from the 21st century, unexpectedly transmigrates to the Yongle era and ends up as an assistant at a public mortuary in Shuntian Prefecture. Armed with modern forensic knowledge, he uses a scalpel as his pen and lividity as his ink, pursuing the truth through the mists of the Ming dynasty: he estimates time of death with precision from the patterns of lividity, identifies poisons by analyzing stomach contents, and exposes staged crime scenes by examining skin beneath the fingernails. Facing skepticism from the county magistrate and hostility from the constables, he proves his case with silver-needle poison tests and distinguishes truth from lies by the angles of wounds, digging hidden evidence of crimes out of one silent corpse after another. When modern medicine meets ancient mysteries, watch as his almost microscopic insight tears away the veil of conspiracy from the yellowed pages of The Washing Away of Wrongs and writes a legend of forensic science.
