Every single historical-era novel is about educated youth being sent to the countryside, or petty rural dramas. Can these authors write anything other than educated youth? Are there any historical-era novels that aren't about going to the countryside or rural life? Even something about spies in the 1940s would be fine!!!

Don’t have the female lead inherit the original host’s husband and child. Don’t have her raise a child as if it were a sibling. Friends should keep some boundaries: don’t eat food your friend has already eaten from. I can’t remember the title, but that aspect of the female lead was unbearable for anyone with a thing about hygiene. Also, don’t have one friend constantly giving while the other just takes. If she gives you something, give her even more in return...
