I Wield My Sword in a World of Blood and Rain

Before Iron Prison Pass, the alliance of the nine great sects gathers, heroes and champions assembling to swear that they will wipe out the Xuan Yin Sect, which has wreaked havoc across the martial world, and its sharpest claw, Chi Yan, master of the Burning Heaven Halberd. In the ring, Chi Yan stands alone with his halberd, looking down on all under heaven and treating the assembled heroes as nothing. With every swing of his Burning Heaven Halberd, stone splits and wind howls. He defeats two fierce warriors in a row, "Green-Maned Lion" Guan Xiong and "Black Fiend Tiger" Zhang Yi, then crushes "Shadow Dragon" Cao Meng's strange and unpredictable Seven Shadow Dragon Slays with sheer force. The assembled heroes are terrified, and the battlefield falls utterly silent.

Seeing the allied forces' morale collapse, Xuan Yin Sect Master Mo Xiao brazenly unleashes his sinister technique, the Xuan Yin Soul-Seizing Art: Ten Thousand Souls Return as One. An invisible and terrifying psychic force sweeps across the battlefield like a black tide. Thousands of martial heroes instantly lose their minds, becoming frenzied puppets who know only how to kill. Chi Yan is peerlessly brave, and the Burning Heaven Halberd leaves a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood in its wake, but he is ultimately trapped in the hopeless position of facing an army alone. His strength begins to fail, and he is on the verge of being swallowed whole by the maddened throng.
