Zero? From the Start, I Fuse with a Cowardly College Student

The Land of Light is ravaged by Belial's army! Zero, the strongest warrior of the New Generation, pursues his nemesis, only to be ambushed and sent tumbling into a cosmic black hole. He crash-lands on Earth, where there are no Ultramen!

His landing looks cool (he wrecks the landscaping), but his energy is almost depleted and he's about to bite the dust. In desperation, Zero locks onto the most timid onlooker, college student Lu Duole. When told they'll have to fuse and fight monsters, Lu Duole immediately drops to his knees: "Boss! I'm afraid of blood and heights, and I'm socially awkward! Please let me go!"

Zero: "You don't get a choice!" Forced fusion, startup!

From then on, hot-tempered Zero and slacker Duole settle into a daily routine of "split personalities": Zero thinks of nothing but "taking down Belial," while Duole just wants to "lie flat and finish his thesis." Faced with all manner of monsters, including the mechanical Ultra Brothers, Zero roars and rants inside their shared mindspace while Duole controls their body and makes a series of slippery escapes. The Earth Defense Force watches this "unconventional" Ultraman and falls into collective contemplation.
