SNH48: The Rose Boy

Everyone knew that YouTang's Team B had a pair of rising stars.

At their first general election, both made it into the rankings.

The next year, both made the senbatsu.

In their fourth year, Duan Yixuan made the top three, while Tao Xinran ranked among the top seven.

Team B was on a roll.

Neither of them expected that result. Before the election, they'd gone out for barbecue and made a bet: whoever reached her goal would have to grant the other one wish.

On the night of the general election, Tao Xinran said she wanted to be with Duan Yixuan.

Duan Yixuan used her wish to turn her down.

They were evenly matched, after all. After that, Tao Xinran chose to study in Boston, while Duan Yixuan began a new chapter in her life.

A year later, Tao Xinran thought she was coming home to watch Duan Yixuan claim the top spot. Instead, she found Duan Yixuan facing one setback after another, doing worse than the year before.

Whenever she wanted to reach out, she remembered what the other girl had said:

“I'm sorry. I only see you as a younger sister.”

When President Ye urged her to return to the group, she said, “Either she's in the group or I am. We can't both be there.”

Siba wasn't exactly a great place, and she was only home for summer vacation anyway.

But on Duan Yixuan's birthday, Tao Xinran heard her hiding in a corner, sobbing her heart out, yet trying desperately to hold it in.

She changed her mind. She still wanted to protect this foolish woman, even if she could only do so as her younger sister.

She could watch Duan Yixuan and Yang Bingyi grow closer and closer.

But just as everyone began to think she and Shen Mengyao were getting closer, Duan Yixuan came looking for her instead.

[This isn't a love story between four people. It's a story of nurturing and devotion.]
