A Chatty Old Ghost Is Buried Behind the Taoist Temple

The Chatterbox Ghost Buried Behind the Taoist Temple follows Chen Yang, a young Taoist priest at the declining Qingyun Temple on the edge of a bustling city. To save the temple, he ventures into its forbidden back hills and accidentally releases Zhao Yifeng, a chatterbox ghost who has been trapped for a thousand years. A quiet one paired with a lively one, the two bicker and work together, using Taoist arts to resolve supernatural disturbances around the city: from a hungry ghost in a villager’s home to a haunted doll in a shopping mall, and even a mysterious organization bent on opening a passage to the underworld. As companions like Su Yao join them, layer upon layer of conspiracy is revealed: the ghost’s cause of death, the betrayal of a senior figure in the mystical arts, and the Ghost King’s ultimate scheme. Once the crisis is over, the ghost is reincarnated and Chen Yang restores the temple, but his mission to protect the world is far from finished. The plum-blossom mark is passed down through the generations, from the city to the stars, and from the present world to the multiverse. Amid laughter and fiery battles, the story of their guardianship continues, with new adventures always waiting.
