I Gave Mom a Million for Retirement, Then Became an Ungrateful Daughter

My younger brother, who only ever mooched off our parents, suddenly suggested that each of us give Mom 500,000 yuan for her retirement. Mom praised him to the skies for being filial. I had no choice but to tighten my belt and scrape together the 500,000 yuan. Later, when Mom fell ill and was hospitalized, she insisted on using her retirement savings to pay for the surgery. “You both work hard for your money. I’ll use my own retirement savings, and you can keep yours for yourselves.” I was so moved that tears welled in my eyes. The next second, a notification popped up saying there wasn’t enough money in Mom’s bank account. While we stood there bewildered, my brother appeared and pointed at me, shouting, “Have you no shame? You’re even stealing Mom’s retirement money! Having a daughter like you is worse than having a roast pork!” Furious and upset, I desperately tried to prove that I hadn’t stolen Mom’s retirement savings. Then my brother whipped out the bank statement. It clearly showed that I was the one who had transferred away Mom’s million-yuan retirement fund. I couldn’t defend myself. In the end, my brother exposed me online, and I was hounded to death. When I opened my eyes again, I was back at the moment Mom insisted on paying the money herself.
