Awakening an SSS-Rank Talent, I Become the Boss of the Lightning Path

While other people awaken talents like “Flame Palm” and “Ice Arrow,” when Zhang Wen's turn comes, his System chimes and pops up a blazing red notice: 【Congratulations, Host! You have unlocked the SSS-rank talent: Nine Heavens Tribulation Lightning】 He was crouched in a corner, gnawing on a cold steamed bun, and nearly choked when he saw the name. “Tribulation lightning? That sounds like something that could fry me to a crisp!” Then a monster with no sense of self-preservation blocked his way. Zhang Wen fumbled around, trying to test his new talent. A spark had barely appeared at his fingertips when the fearsome Frost Prison Demon Spider across from him was struck with a crack, turning into a plate of roasted spider legs. The System helpfully added: 【First combat encounter detected. Host rewarded with the passive skill “Automatic Lightning Recharge.” Remember to aim next time you fry a monster.】 From that moment on, the good-for-nothing's comeback story went completely off the rails. Sect tournament? While everyone else was comparing whose fists were harder, he raised a hand and blasted the arena into a fireworks display. The judge yelled while putting out the flames, “Foul! No nuclear weapons allowed!” Treasure hunt in a secret realm? While everyone else struggled to solve the mechanisms, the System highlighted a message in red: 【Turn left and take three steps to find an ancient source of lightning. You can also fry the three idiots trying to steal the treasure.】 Even the old demon on the neighboring mountain sent him a spiritual message: “Zhang! Sparring is one thing, but could you stop tearing the roof off my cave every other day? Repairs are expensive!” Zhang Wen ran his fingers over the lightning arcs dancing in his palm and sighed. “Can't help it. My talent's too strong. I can't control my ownself.” After all, who could blame him? He had an SSS-rank Tribulation Lightning talent as a cheat, plus a System dad who couldn't bear to see him lose.
