Bloodshed on a Snowy Night

A Bloodbath on a Snowy Night: On the bitterly cold night of the Great Cold, Zhenyuan Escort Agency, the finest escort agency in Qingzhou, was slaughtered by a mysterious assailant. Chief Escort Cheng Tieshan fought desperately to hide his only son, Cheng Mo, in a secret room, then was run through the throat with a sword. The boy witnessed his father’s brutal death and became the sole survivor of the massacre.

A Reclusive Master: Gravely wounded and near death, Cheng Mo was rescued by Chu Qingqiu, the “Old Fisherman of the Cold River,” who happened to pass by. Though he seemed like an ordinary fisherman, he was actually a renowned swordsman who had made his name in the martial world twenty years ago, before retiring to the mountains, weary of bloodshed.

Taking a Master: Once his wounds had healed, Cheng Mo knelt and begged Chu Qingqiu to take him as a disciple. Chu initially refused, but the boy’s sincerity won him over after Cheng Mo knelt in the snow for seven days and seven nights. He began teaching him swordsmanship and internal cultivation techniques.

The Mystery of His Origins: While sorting through his father’s belongings, Cheng Mo found a bloodstained letter hinting that the massacre was connected to the legendary “Xuantian Token,” and suggesting that his father had known this disaster was coming.

Underlying Turmoil in the Martial World: When Cheng Mo first ventured into town to buy supplies, he noticed unfamiliar martial artists everywhere. Rumors about the “Xuantian Token’s reappearance” were spreading through the teahouses, heralding an even greater upheaval.
