A Tyrant Lurks Beneath the Cold Palace Wall

After a car accident, top pharmaceutical representative Lin Wan transmigrates into the disgraced empress of the Northern Liang Dynasty. Imprisoned in a leaky, freezing palace and left to die, she digs up the ground to plant medicinal herbs and accidentally uncovers a secret box left behind by the previous empress. On a rainy night, she also finds a badly wounded masked man. She uses modern medicine to save him, unaware that he is none other than the tyrant Xiao Che, who ordered her execution that very day. He hides behind the mask of the commander of the imperial bodyguards as they join forces to fight a plague, while she wears the guise of a court physician to help him purge the court. Only when rebel torches light up the cold palace does he tear open his bloodstained robe to reveal an imperial tattoo. “This realm needs an empress who knows how to cut to the heart of people. Would you marry me once more, my beloved minister?”
