Rule Horror: The Heavenly Master Who Sees Through Illusions

When the red moon rises, the rules devour people.

La Qianqiu stood before the entrance to the “Abode of Impermanence.” Beneath his sunglasses, his empty eye sockets seemed to conceal two abysses. He hadn’t come here by choice, but the world no longer made any sense. Rules coiled around every corner like chains: shut the doors at a quarter past midnight, no mirrors at night, never look directly at the woman in red... Each one was like a blade, slicing open the border between reality and nightmare.

He felt his way forward through the uncanny. Every time he lowered his head, he was yielding to fate; every time he solved a puzzle, he uncovered an even deeper mystery. Yin energy seeped from the water vat, an infant’s cries pierced the night sky, and the door to the basement seemed to hide a secret buried by his family. He began to suspect that the rules themselves were an elaborate lie.

He used his Daoist heart to resist fear and his Heavenly Eye to peer into cause and effect. He discovered messages in incense ash, a fated number hidden in the safe zone, and even cracks in rules that appeared to be ironclad. He was no longer a passive pawn, but a delusion-shattering rebel who wielded the brush and rewrote his fate.

But every escape demanded a blood sacrifice. Family, allies, convictions, even his own soul were repeatedly burned in this game. He asked himself: If the rules are absurd to begin with, is resisting them just another kind of cage?

When the world is swallowed by rules, what choice do people have? Should they give in to fear, or seek the truth amid the madness?
