The Meltdown Night Banquet

On a stormy night in Deep Water Bay, a lavish eightieth-birthday banquet begins for Ye Chongshan, the head of the Ye family. Amid the clinking glasses, a deadly “birthday gift” unexpectedly appears: an encrypted USB security key linked to enormous Swiss bank assets. The old man suddenly suffers a brain hemorrhage and falls into a coma, turning the extravagant banquet into a battlefield.

The eldest granddaughter, Ye Zhao, returns with an audit report exposing irregularities in the group’s finances, only to be swept into the heart of a will dispute and a storm over inheritance rights. The mysterious disappearance of the USB key makes it the prize all factions are fighting over. Her cultured uncle Ye Shichang offers an olive branch, mysterious ally Huo Zhixing reveals his hand, and the alluring Lin Wan hides a poisonous sting. Beneath the reefs of the family trust, danger lurks everywhere.

The storm quickly escalates, spreading from a struggle over a hidden room in the family mansion to a bloody hunt across global capital markets. Hostile takeovers, short-selling traps, and leveraged shocks come one after another. As Ye Zhao is strangled by the forces of capital, she gradually uncovers the family secrets buried for years: the truth behind her mother’s mysterious death is tied to an old case at Renji Hospital, while the tangled mystery of Huo Zhixing’s origins drags the two powerful Huo and Song families into the vortex.

When the blood-soaked report on a shoddy construction project from 1998 comes to light, the regulators bring down the axe, and the Ye empire teeters on the brink of collapse. A foreign financial titan reveals itself, igniting an inferno that threatens to consume Hong Kong’s foundations. Can Ye Zhao and Huo Zhixing turn the tide amid betrayal and the collapse of their engagement? The ultimate showdown at the shareholders’ meeting will determine not only who takes the Ye family’s throne, but also reshape the balance of power among Hong Kong’s top conglomerates. This is a deadly contest among the elite, beginning with a shocking banquet and ending in a rebirth of power. Capital is the blade, truth the shield, and love and hate the game. Who will claim the crown from the ashes?
