The Old Madam of the Marquis's Estate Awakens and Straightens Out Her Disaster of a Family

She’s ruthless and doesn’t waste words. [Inner thoughts] [Real and fake heiresses] [The whole marquis household fights to survive] After a vivid dream, Wen Guizhi discovers that her granddaughter isn’t her real granddaughter at all. Her daughter-in-law’s wet nurse switched the babies. She has devoted years to Buddhist practice and stayed out of worldly affairs. Only later does she learn that her foolish daughter-in-law has cruelly mistreated her own biological daughter. In the end, her real granddaughter is forced to marry the philandering Prince Jing. Half a year later, she dies, body and soul. Her three grandsons are no less troublesome. The eldest grandson is hopelessly naive in officialdom. He falls into someone’s trap without realizing it and gets his second uncle dismissed from office and confined at home. The second grandson loves nothing more than practicing with weapons. He sets off to roam the martial world at fifteen, and when he’s beaten to death, no one even knows where to retrieve his body. The youngest grandson does nothing but eat, drink, and have fun, and he’s addicted to gambling. Her eldest son guards the border with unwavering dedication, only to be branded a traitor and dragged back to the capital to be executed. Her eldest daughter-in-law can’t take it and leaves with someone else that very day. A prestigious household entrusted with guarding the nation is left in ruins, its family destroyed. The men are sentenced to death, and the women are exiled three thousand li. Her second daughter-in-law dies on the journey. Wen Guizhi watches the members of the marquis household die one by one, then dies herself on the road to exile. She refuses to accept such an ending. She picks up her stick: if they need beating, she’ll beat them; if they need pampering, she’ll pamper them. She won’t let the marquis household fall into ruin! P.S. Grandmother is a fairly level-headed person. She won’t condemn anyone to death just because of a dream, but once she’s given them a chance and confirmed they’re beyond hope, she’ll kill them if necessary. Also, the real heiress won’t just hide behind her grandmother. Please give her time to grow instead of calling her a coward. Thank you.
