Zhujiapuzi

This work is rooted in the folds of the northwest land in the early Republic of China. What I want to write about is not only the rise and fall of a family, but also the spiritual torch held up by a group of northwest men in the abyss of suffering. The story of the Zhu brothers is my tribute to the tenacious souls of that land - the bark gnawed on the road to escape from the desert, the worn palms when starting a business, and the widened eyes when confronting evil forces. Every detail is soaked in the struggle and unyieldingness of the people at the bottom of that era. I deliberately placed them in a whirlpool of multiple contradictions: natural disasters and man-made disasters forced them to leave their homes, which was an "escape" prompted by their survival instinct; after settling down, they started from scratch and built the foundation of "Zhu's Shop" with their sweat, which was their desire for a stable life. Simplicity and yearning are the tenacity to refuse to give up on the road to "entrepreneurship"; and the pawn shop has become the support of the neighbors. They have to face the exploitation of corrupt officials, the covetousness of bandits, and the calculations of profiteers. The word "foothold" has become a head-to-head battle. Each step of this trilogy is paved with blood and sweat, and each step demonstrates the "single-minded" resilience of Northwest people - accepting death, sticking to the bottom line, protecting family members, and loving the country. The Zhu brothers are not perfect heroes. They have been timid, had disputes, and even had moments when they bowed to reality. But it is these "imperfections" that make their "bravery" more real. Faced with the oppression of corrupt officials, they dared to unite to resist taxes; faced with the swords and guns of bandits, they were willing to use their wealth to protect their peace; faced with the calculations of profiteers, they guarded the word "integrity" and never let go. This kind of "fight" is not a reckless collision, but an unyielding heart.
