[Childhood Cartoons + Characters Watch Along] Childhood cartoons are unfinished dreams tucked away in our hearts. Childhood is vast, too vast for words to describe, and yet so small that a single picture can hold it all. Some people say, “Goodbye,” and then you never see them again. Perhaps... saying goodbye really is the start of a journey. After school, how many people eagerly rushed into your childhood? And how many cartoons still fill you with nostalgia? We once believed that McDull would reach the Rainbow Sea, but the promise of The Astroboy of the Starry Sky eventually faded into the wind. We thought Chiyan Qixing would lead Camellia Village out into the world, but the races in Armored Beetles stopped forever at the height of the competition, before a winner could be crowned. We followed Hong Feng of Soccer Heroes of the Song Dynasty as he dribbled his way from the streets to the royal cuju field, but never got to see them lift the championship trophy... What a shame. So many journeys were left unfinished: Legend of Bead, Magic Boy, Dragon Warrior... Like kites with broken strings, they drift in the corners of our memories. They seem so close, yet we can never reach them again. Maybe regret is what childhood is made of: the endings we never got to see, the stories left untold, moments that still leave us wistful as adults. But whenever we remember, a faint light still glimmers in our hearts. Because what we can never forget isn’t the ending, but the younger selves who clenched their fists and wept with joy for those stories.
