Reborn, I Give Up My Legitimate Younger Sister and Become a Young General Again

After Lin Chang’an died a miserable death from poisoning, I became the person his half-sister, Wen Yuyan, hated most.

Even though I gave up everything for her, ruined my martial arts, and stayed in the capital for years to care for her, I still couldn’t compare to a bowl of plain rice porridge from Lin Shaoyu, Lin Chang’an’s younger brother.

Before she died of illness, she clutched my sleeve tightly.

“If I’d known sooner how much you resented Chang’an...”

“I would have spent more time finding Shaoyu for him, instead of asking you to return to the residence.”

Barely half a month after her death, unrest broke out in the capital.

The Yuyue Army, acting on her orders, protected Lin Shaoyu as he fled, but abandoned me.

“Before she died, the young lady ordered us to protect Master Lin at all costs.”

“Everyone else is an unrelated outsider, and has nothing to do with the Yuyue Army.”

I had ruined my martial arts for her and cared for her devotedly for years, yet in the end, all I got was being called an unrelated outsider.

I watched the Yuyue Army leave me behind. Unable to argue, I could only pick up my sword and fight for my life, before finally dying beneath the blades of the fleeing soldiers.

Reborn in this life, I crushed without hesitation the pill that had ruined my martial arts, then turned, took up my sword, and knelt.

“Your subject will obey the imperial edict. I am willing to go to the border in seven days and defeat the enemy army.”
