Jiang Jingyi was like an orchid growing in a crack in the rocks, using coolness to disguise her allure and obedience to conceal her sharp edges.
Clearheaded, wise, and independent, she understood her position and did everything she could to gain the greatest possible advantage.
Jingyi was a concubine-born daughter of the prime minister’s household. Her mother had once been the most famous dancer in Jiangnan. Jingyi would “rather be a concubine in a humble family than in a powerful one.” After her coming-of-age ceremony at fifteen, she began “looking” for a place for herself in the capital. At sixteen, Jingyi found a husband who seemed right for her, but would things go as she hoped?
The plot of this book is so novel and twists and turns, I really like the heroine and Zhou Yanhuai. The heroine was very likable from the beginning when she was planning to choose a husband. The sentence "I would rather be a wife of a poor family than a concubine of a high family", I wonder if the heroine is right to insist on it [crying], if she puts aside the past of the Prime Minister's Mansion and lives a good life with Shi Jing, will the ending be so distressing [almost crying]
A well-written author. Looking forward to reading on.
