[Horror + twisted redemption + supernatural psychology + tragic romance. Dark, unhinged male lead Le Huai & resilient, broken female lead Yin Zhen]
“I’d rather have you hate me than beg for a scrap of tenderness from you like everyone else.”
Le Huai
On the first day Yin Zhen moved into the apartment building, she knew something was wrong with the place.
The landlord’s eyes darted around as they signed the lease. “There was a fire in Room 407… But don’t worry, it was cleaned up a long time ago.”
At midnight, the children’s song “Little Bug Fly” could always be heard, but the security footage showed an empty hallway.
The couple across the hall insisted they had only one child, yet two sets of children’s clothes were always hanging on their balcony.
Yin Zhen began to wonder if she was going mad.
Until, on that dark night, her craft knife plunged into the heart of the person who had been following her.
In the pool of blood, her neighbor Le Huai leaned down and wiped her fingers clean. His voice was gentle. “I’ll take care of the aftermath, but your life… belongs to me now.”
Yin Zhen sold herself to this demon and became entangled with him day and night.
She thought the deal would last three years at most.
She didn’t know he had been waiting for her for ten years.
“Do you hate me?” In the dead of night, he squeezed her throat and kissed her.
“But back then, you were ten thousand times crueler.”
Later, a raging fire consumed everything, and Yin Zhen finally remembered it all.
In the fire ten years ago, she wasn’t the only culprit, nor the only survivor.
This time, she would solve the mystery herself.
And she and Le Huai should have ended things long ago.
[P.S. The male and female leads aren’t perfect characters. If that bothers you, read with caution! Read with caution!]
A nice short article, but the rating is too low. I came in after reading the introduction. I didn't expect to keep reading. It's worth watching. The male and female protagonists redeem each other. They only have each other. The male protagonist silently protects the female protagonist from behind and relieves her burden... Sometimes it's a good thing for her not to think about the past things anymore.
The story is quite attractive, but the ending is a bit hasty... It foreshadows a lot of memories of the male protagonist, and it would be perfect if more is added later. I look forward to the next new book! 🥰🥰[Admiration]
