Darkness and Light in the Golden Triangle

Chen Yu, a top student at a police academy, is drawn into the tangled situation in the Golden Triangle after an accident. Going undercover in the region’s largest drug cartel, he must carefully conceal his identity and earn the trust of the drug lord in a place rife with crime and death. At the same time, he must endure the anguish of watching those around him be consumed by drugs.

In the Golden Triangle, Chen Yu meets Su Yao, a doctor trapped there as well. She had come to provide charity medical aid, but the drug cartel took her prisoner and forced her to work for them. The two support each other through their predicament, gradually developing deep feelings for one another.

As his investigation deepens, Chen Yu discovers that even greater forces stand behind the cartel. In collusion with local officials and warlords, they have woven a dark network that is difficult to break. During a crucial deal, Chen Yu nearly blows his cover. At the critical moment, Li Ming, an informant who has been lying low inside the cartel, sacrifices himself to protect Chen Yu.

Carrying out Li Ming’s final wish, Chen Yu presses on through the darkness. Using his intelligence and courage, he gathers crucial evidence against the cartel and successfully passes it on to the police back home. At last, in a dramatic large-scale raid, the cartel is wiped out. Chen Yu completes his mission and returns to a normal life with Su Yao.
