War-Torn Memories, Crushing the Enemy

In 1940, amid the gunfire of a Japanese massacre, Chen Yu crawls out of a pile of corpses, clutching his scarred right hand. His parents lie in pools of blood, his younger sister is nowhere to be found, and hatred burns in his throat. With a dagger of vengeance in his heart, he enlists, but instead of fighting on the front lines, he is recommended straight to the Public Security Bureau as a rookie after the head of the Independent Regiment remarks, “There’s a tenacity in your eyes.” But just after he reports for duty, classified documents are stolen. At the crime scene, he touches a pocket watch left behind, and fragments of a Japanese spy’s memories suddenly explode into his mind: the Sakura Society’s poison gas bomb plot, a double agent hidden within the Public Security system, and the cries of his kidnapped sister... No one knows that the hands newly gripping a Public Security pistol possess the extraordinary ability to read the memories of anything they touch! Touch a bloodstained strip of cloth at the crime scene, and the thief’s face comes into sharp focus in his memories. Touch the double agent’s old fountain pen, and the route used to pass along intelligence instantly comes together. Piece together the scattered memories, and he uncovers a map marking poison bomb drop sites across the entire city! No plot armor! Every manhunt is a deadly gamble, and he can rely only on the trials of blood and fire. With his special ability, he plays a spy-thriller version of “memory jigsaw,” tearing through layer upon layer of mist. As his scarred hand squeezes the trigger, Chen Yu roars, “I’ll settle the score for the Japanese devils’ blood debt and the traitor’s betrayal!” The covert war on the public security front is even more treacherous than the battlefield. He will use his memory-reading power to piece together the truth before dawn!
