Bite Marks of the Apocalypse: The Symbiotic Fungus Commander's Lady

In the apocalypse, Lu Zhao is a half-zombie modified human. The symbiotic bacteria inside her require her to bite living creatures regularly to keep her alive. By chance, she encounters Shen Jin, a former military commander now on a mission. After biting him, she discovers that his blood can suppress her rampages, so she deliberately clings to him and joins the Wanderers’ Alliance.

The two go from wary of each other to falling in love. Along the way, Lu Zhao’s identity as an experimental subject and Shen Jin’s past betrayal by the military are revealed one after another.

When the northern defenses are in crisis, Shen Jin insists on taking Lu Zhao to the front line because her symbiotic link lets her sense the zombies’ movements. He, in turn, becomes her reason to keep living.

In the end, as they battle the zombie horde and the military’s schemes, they find redemption in each other.
