Empresses in the Palace, but the Harem Is All Men: Starting with Yu Ying’er

Yu Ying’er woke up to find that she had lost something and gained something else. Before she could even finish gaping in shock, the eunuch in charge of the Plum Garden kicked open the door and yelled, “Lazybones! Lie around any longer and I’ll dock your monthly pay!” She lugged a pair of giant shears off to work, growing more and more certain that something was wrong: Why were there more rouge and face powders in the servants’ quarters than she had? Why did these men spend every day discussing which shade of lip color best suited their complexion? Why was the head eunuch’s orchid finger more perfect than hers? Gazing at the plum blossoms filling the garden, Yu Ying’er fell into deep thought: “Could this place… be a male version of Empresses in the Palace?” CP: The first story pairs Yu Ying’er with Nian Shilan. The second story pairs Nian Gengyao with Yixiu. The third story is undecided. This isn’t a male-male romance. I didn’t add the tag, and I can’t remove it.
