Brocade of War

Two lifetimes amid flames of war, with the Xuanji as their proof; rivers and mountains soaked in blood, but their love and loyalty endure. In Republican-era Shanghai, revolutionary commander Jin Yunshen, codenamed Guhong, undertakes the top-secret “Xuanji” mission and meets Lin Shuying, a banker’s daughter. She is secretly an undercover agent for “Xinghuo,” assigned to watch him. Amid financial schemes and clashes in the shadows, feelings blossom between them. But Lin Shuying discovers that her superior, “Zhulong,” has betrayed them and joined forces with the foreign enemy “Guixu” to set a deadly trap. To save Jin Yunshen and protect the revolutionary cause, she detonates explosives, sacrificing herself to take the enemy with her. She dies on the banks of the Huangpu River. Jin Yunshen escapes, but is branded a traitor and forced into exile, left with only the “Xuanji Core” pocket watch she dropped and a lifetime of regret. A century later, on a technological battlefield, Jin Yunshen is reborn as Jin Heng, a leading scientist in charge of the nation’s major “Xuanji Project.” Lin Xi, an aerospace engineer reborn from Lin Shuying, joins the project after deciphering anomalous data. A long-sealed “Xuanji Core” and fragments of their past-life memories set the stage for a reunion across time. They discover that Guixu still lurks in the shadows, stealing cutting-edge technology. Their past struggles for their country become a present-day mission of protection. Working with national security, the two use their wits to break through the enemy’s schemes: Jin Heng sees through their plot, while Lin Xi astonishes everyone with her skills. In the end, they shatter a century-old conspiracy and safeguard the nation’s most important technology. When the smoke clears, they use irrefutable evidence to clear Jin Yunshen and Lin Shuying’s names, bringing justice to the fallen. The blood shed in their past life and the starlight of this one merge. The “Xuanji” is no longer merely a keepsake; it has become a flame of faith that illuminates the land and will never go out. Side by side, they protect the peaceful, prosperous age won through blood and fire, keeping it bright forever.
