At the end of the Xia dynasty, the people suffer under the rule of the tyrant Jie. Yue Li, a shaman’s daughter with a special bloodline and a hidden secret, is forced into the palace for her peerless beauty. Jie is both infatuated with her and suspicious of her, while Yue Li struggles to survive in the inner palace and protect herself and her people.
Meanwhile, a power from ancient times is awakening, and its fate is bound tightly to Yue Li’s. She is the vital vessel for the reincarnated power of an ancient Demon King. Xuan Ming, the seemingly loyal yet unfathomable royal adviser at Jie’s side, is the reincarnation of a little demon who once deserted the Demon King.
After plotting for a thousand years, Xuan Ming intends to exploit Jie’s cruelty and Yue Li’s unique nature to awaken and seize the Demon King’s power, overthrow the human world, and rebuild the demon realm.
