[1990s underworld, crooked gambling, antiques appraisal and scams + aristocratic clans and ancient martial arts families + plot-driven]
Remember: ten bets, ten scams; the only way to win is not to gamble.
This story is entirely fictional. Any resemblance is purely coincidental. Gambling is illegal. This is a warning, a warning.
The story is set in the 1990s, though you could even consider it an alternate era.
The year Chen Mo turned twenty, his grandfather left and never came back. Chen Mo was an orphan, supposedly found by his grandfather at a train station.
He was named Chen Mo, meaning he should speak less and do more.
Chen Mo did not even know his grandfather's full name.
His grandfather had only eight fingers. He was a top cheat at gambling, an antiques appraiser, and a master schemer, known in the underworld as the Eight-Faced Buddha or Ghost Grandpa.
As far back as Chen Mo could remember, no one had ever beaten his grandfather at gambling tricks or antiques appraisal.
When Chen Mo was nineteen, his grandfather joked that Chen had already surpassed him in both skills, and that there was nothing left for him to teach.
Following his grandfather's words before he left, Chen Mo found the things he had left behind for him: a letter warning him to live an ordinary life, since cheats and schemers never come to a good end.
A black token bearing the character for “cheat,” an antique from the Yongle era of the Ming dynasty.
A dagger named Firefly, from the Southern Song dynasty.
One million in savings.
To track down the circumstances behind his grandfather's accident, Chen Mo walked into the trap himself, officially entering the treacherous underground world at the age of twenty.
Chen Mo discovered that his grandfather's accident was closely connected to the token bearing the character for “cheat” that he had left behind.
Because of this token, Chen Mo repeatedly found himself in dangerous situations.
Danger and opportunity went hand in hand.
It turned out that the token concealed a secret that terrified the entire underworld.
Come on, write better and try your best to turn this book into a video.
Still pretty good-looking
Friends, please give me an evaluation. I accept both the good and the bad. Brothers, is there anyone?
Very good and enjoyable.
It was pretty good at first, I'll check it out later to see if it's still the same.
