Do You Know? The Leaves Should Be Green and Lush, the Flowers Red and Faded

When I saw my former wife again, she had become the daughter of a powerful Minister of Justice and was presiding over my case. My case had already been closed, and I had been acquitted. But she insisted on striking the court block and reopening the trial. Not a soul in the county court dared to speak up. “Shen Ming, during the Lantern Festival, you harassed the second young lady of the Su family in the street and tried to assault her. Do you plead guilty?” Looking at her still flawless, jade-like face on the bench, I remembered how, five years ago, she had been just as relentless in defending her childhood sweetheart, trampling on our vows time and again. It was also for that young lord that we divorced. “I don't plead guilty, Your Honor. The second young lady and I have already pledged ourselves to each other, and our match has been agreed upon by a matchmaker. I ask you to judge the matter fairly!” “What?” Jiang Yue sprang to her feet in fury, nearly smashing the court block in two. “You promised we would grow old together! Who gave you permission to pledge yourself to someone else?” “You're guilty whether you admit it or not! Guards, seize him!”
