Wang Wu was an ordinary young man in the modern world. By chance, he transmigrates to the mythological world of Journey to the West and becomes a common villager. At this point, Sun Wukong has yet to be born, demons run rampant across the land, and the people suffer terribly. The village where Wang Wu lives is often harassed by fox demons, making life difficult. He secretly vows to change everything. By chance, he finds a cultivation manual in a cave outside the village. Treasuring it like a priceless gift, he begins practicing in secret.
To cultivate more effectively, Wang Wu leaves the village and heads into the mountains. He encounters one strange opportunity after another, and makes great progress on his path of cultivation. After several years of training in the mountains, he hears that evil spirits are causing trouble in a nearby town. He decides to descend the mountain, exorcise them, and build up merit. Using the spells he has learned and the techniques taught to him by the fox demons, Wang Wu successfully drives off the evil spirits and makes a name for himself. The local people hail him as a hero.
Wang Wu meets several like-minded cultivators. Together, they roam the land and explore secret realms, sharing their cultivation experience. While exploring an ancient ruin, Wang Wu discovers a powerful magical treasure, but it also draws the attention of evil forces. After a fierce battle, Wang Wu protects the treasure with his wisdom and courage, and breaks through to a higher level of cultivation. As his fame grows, he attracts the attention of the Heavenly Court and is recruited as a minor celestial official. But the Heavenly Court is no sanctuary either: its factions are locked in constant conflict...
An emotionless composition novel.
