Buddhist Monk, Your Bride's Vibe Is All Wrong

Comedy, transmigration, marriage before love [On the outside, a sweet little bunny; on the inside, a sarcastic, checked-out modern woman] VS [On the outside, a cool and ascetic Buddhist prince; on the inside, possessive to the extreme, full of dirty talk, and wickedly charming] Su Miaomiao transmigrates into the body of an impoverished noblewoman and gets a “Buddhist prince” husband from the start. Her husband is Fan Yin, a legendary figure in the Great Yin Dynasty: a Buddhist prince who practices with his hair unshorn, radiates an aura of holiness, and is on the verge of attaining enlightenment. “Who wants to marry a monk and spend her life alone?!” Su Miaomiao rants inwardly. She acts obedient on the surface, but tries every trick in the book to escape: she climbs a wall and lands on her backside, pretends to be sick and is forced to drink bitter medicine, bribes someone and gets reported… Every escape plan ends in disaster! On their wedding night, sandalwood incense drifts through the cold Buddhist temple. Under her veil, Su Miaomiao glimpses a face so devastatingly handsome that she can’t stop swallowing. He really is gorgeous, but… can we get a divorce? Anyone? I need an answer, fast! The Buddhist prince lowers his eyes. “I’ll honor our agreement and keep my vows.” She finally lets out a breath, but her long-dormant romantic desires start stirring… Then her Buddhist prince husband seems to break character! When she falls into his arms, the hand rolling his prayer beads goes still. When she stumbles drunkenly into his meditation room, his fingertips burn hot, and his beads brush across her lips. “Disturbing my meditation comes at a price, Madam.” When she’s harassed, he shields her in his arms without even removing his kasaya. “Anyone who touches her will be punished, even by the gods.” The Buddhist heart Fan Yin has cultivated through years of ascetic practice crumbles before Su Miaomiao. Rules and precepts? Freedom from worldly desires? The moment he sees her, all he wants is to… break his vows! He pins her against a stack of scriptures, his breath burning hot. “Miaomiao, in this vast mortal world, you drew me into your game. Don’t think you can walk away unscathed.” He kisses her trembling lashes, his voice husky and tempting. “I can’t be a Buddha. For the rest of my life, I’ll give up the monkhood for you…”
