Ghost Phoenix

Wang Baochuan died after serving as empress for only eighteen days. Her spirit drifted above the palace.

She watched Xue Pinggui give her a lavish funeral, then bury her in a grave that was empty of anything of value.

She watched him treat her mother and eldest sister generously in public, then secretly poison them and blame her father, wiping out her entire family.

She watched him shoot their son dead and kick their daughter to death, all while wearing a face full of remorse and claiming it was an accident.

She watched him treat Princess Daizhan with genuine affection and show filial devotion to the Empress Dowager.

She heard the hatred he held for her.

Her heart overflowing with rage, she charged at Xue Pinggui, only to be stopped by a flash of golden light. Darkness swallowed her vision.
