Synopsis of The Bovine Life of Niu Geng in Another World
Overworked office drone Niu Geng drops dead at dawn while editing a PowerPoint. When he opens his eyes, he discovers he has become a newborn black yak! His monthly salary has plummeted from 2,500 yuan to zero grass, and he even gets a wolf-pack attack as a beginner’s welcome gift. Other people are reborn with a golden finger; he unlocks the "A Bovine Odyssey" achievement right away!
To survive in a forest where the strong prey on the weak, Niu Geng begins his ridiculous rise to success. He uses a Douyin trap to catch wild rabbits, only to end up trussed like a dumpling himself. He tries learning the tortoise-breathing technique but turns it into "Ox Panting Technique," earning a scolding from an old tortoise who says he wheezes worse than someone playing video games. He chips a tooth chewing a spirit stone, then his runaway spiritual energy cures his cavity. Even more absurdly, the "transmission conch" he invents becomes WeChat for the bovine world, and the "Demon Beast Esports League" he organizes has rabbits playing ADC. He even turns square dancing into a cultivation manual!
Just as Niu Geng thinks he can coast through life by sticking to the art of playing it safe, the mysterious "Ben" spirit mark on his forehead suddenly begins to glow. It turns out he is the reincarnation of the Yak God! From then on, he sets out with a rabbit that can spit out the essence of moonlight and an old tortoise whose shattered shell works as a navigation system. Together, they open a merchant guild in the cultivation world, fight the Tianhou, and brave the Kunlun Ruins. Along the way, he even finds himself in an interspecies romance spanning ten lifetimes. (The snow-wolf mechanical maiden tearfully remarks: "This male lead is so hard to handle.")
Millions of years later, an Earth archaeology team unearths a statue with its horns raised. Among its grave goods are Douyin trap blueprints, ox coins, and a rusty medal engraved with "Esports Champion." An archaeologist scratches his head. "Could this ox be the universe’s greatest wisecracker?" A friendly reminder: don’t read this while drinking, unless you want to try the new "spray the book" experience!
