Transmigrate! The wondrous beginning of a fall into a slop bucket
"Good grief, why's the kitchen such a mess today!" Mei Defeng muttered as he frantically tidied up the stove. He was a fat cook at a little restaurant in the bustling city, busy from morning to night like a spinning top. His chef's hat was damp with sweat around the rim, and his round belly bounced with every movement, like he had a big ball tucked under his shirt.
"Xiao Li, put those vegetables over there. Don't just leave them lying around!" Mei Defeng yelled, gripping his spatula as he expertly stir-fried the food in the wok. A rich aroma instantly filled the air. Just then, one of the workers nearby accidentally knocked over a stack of plates. They crashed to the floor with a clatter and shattered into pieces.
"What the heck!" Startled by the sudden noise, Mei Defeng slipped and fell backward, completely out of control. He flailed his arms in the air, trying to grab hold of something, but caught nothing. With a tremendous splash, he fell into the big bucket of slop behind him.
"Ugh!" Mei Defeng stuck his head out of the slop bucket, his face covered in disgusting food waste. His hair hung in clumps against his face, and the sour, rancid stench coming off him made everyone nearby cover their noses. "Which rotten bastard did this?!" His face flushed with anger as he cursed and struggled to climb out.
But as he scrambled with both hands and feet, a blinding white light suddenly flashed before his eyes. Before Mei Defeng could react, the world spun around him. It felt as if an invisible force were dragging him along, tossing him about without stopping
