[No mindless protagonist] + [No System] + [Not invincible]
The setting and the protagonist's abilities stay true to the original, so it should feel authentic. (If you don't like it, come right in and yell at me.)
There's no lofty knightly code, no powerful cheat gift falling from the sky at the start, and no reward without hard work. All there is is an ordinary person's perseverance.
The protagonist, Helios, has some of his original memories intertwined with the memories of this body's former owner. He's an ordinary knight.
Another soul also resides in his body: a wanderer from 400 years ago who was pursuing the Black Shadow.
The heroine is Frederica. If you think this is a multiple-heroines story, you can count related female characters such as Elsa, Meili, and Crusch as well.
Helios is in Crusch's faction, but will help Emilia's faction. He acts on almost the same timeline as Subaru, and his resurrection is closely tied to Subaru.
Stories of Subaru's heroism will spread across the continent, as will the tale of Helios, the kingdom's Star Singer. He and Subaru are a pair of hard-luck brothers, basically.
The prequel in Volume 1 broadly covers Helios's struggles, focusing on laying the groundwork for the story.
The main story in Volume 2 details the hardships he endures alongside Subaru, focusing on advancing the original plot.
The side story in Volume 3 details his good fortune in Crusch's faction, focusing on developing Helios's character.
→ Volume 3 runs alongside the main story, serving as a game patch, so to speak.
The main story in Volume 4 goes into detail about how Helios changes the world, focusing on the stories he sets in motion.
(After 150,000 words: I planned things rigorously before writing the novel. No need to overdo it.)
Everything is working fine now, looking forward to further development. There is nothing poisonous about it, just a normal Re fan who prefers daily life. I will urge the author to finish writing this book. 🙂[salute]
