In the Name of the People: My Grandpa, Qi Tongwei, Was No Farmer

Qi Feng was born in the 21st year of the Guangxu reign in Daxing County, Shuntian Prefecture. His family had run an escort agency for three generations... Yet by a twist of fate, he became the only cultivator in the world. He witnessed the decline of dynasties, the rule of warlords, and invasions by foreign enemies... While helping the country wipe out its enemies, he cultivated a heart demon through excessive slaughter and had no choice but to enter seclusion to fight it. He never expected that after destroying the heart demon and achieving the Nascent Soul stage, several decades would have passed in the mortal world. He also discovered that the maid who had served him all those years ago had left him a descendant: a grandson named “Qi Tongwei.” Qi Tongwei is still young, and even though fate has dealt him a cruel hand by assigning him to a justice office in the mountains, he remains full of justice and hope. He wants to find a way out through his own efforts. But an accident nearly gets him killed by drug dealers. Having narrowly survived, Qi Tongwei is greeted by a grandfather who has just returned from seclusion. Longing for family, Qi Tongwei excitedly kowtows. “Grandfather, from now on, I’ll make sure to take good care of you!” Looking at his well-behaved eldest grandson, Qi Feng bursts into laughter. “Haha, good, my good grandson. Just work hard, and leave the rest to your grandfather.” “With me, Qi Feng, around, no one will ever bully my grandson again!” From then on, Qi Tongwei’s career takes off. When Qi Feng’s true identity is finally revealed to the world, everyone is left utterly stunned. Qi Tongwei is even more dumbfounded: “What? My grandfather was once the emperor’s tutor? My grandfather once killed a million enemy soldiers? What? My grandfather isn’t human? He’s an immortal?”
