A beginner-friendly story with no romance.
(Jiang Ye is just a little aloof. To his parents, their son has been strange since childhood, and they've gotten used to it. That doesn't mean he disrespects them.)
The taciturn Jiang Ye transmigrates into a high-martial world as a frail medical cultivator. His daily routine has three parts: brewing medicine, arguing with people, and being socially awkward.
“Fellow cultivator, your remedy for kidney deficiency isn't as effective as my foot-washing water.”
Then his mother's old illness flares up, leaving her on the brink of death.
He tears open his healer's robe, revealing legs covered in hidden weapons. “Coming through. I'm going to pick some herbs on the back mountain.”
In front of a demon beast's lair, the boy chews on a candy pill and sighs. “Fighting is such a hassle when you're socially awkward.”
That night, the whole city hears the anguished cries of demon beasts going extinct on the back mountain.
In the morning, he gently feeds his mother medicine from a bowl, his clothes spattered with blood.
His mother asks weakly, “Was the ingredient hard to find?”
He dusts off his clothes. “The rabbits on the back mountain are pretty fierce.”
