Also known as “But They All Call Me Crazy”
The night sky over the city is torn open by the supernatural, and the entire world is connected to the [Supernatural Game]. Twisted-rule instances spread like cancer cells. Ordinary people struggle to survive under the iron law that exceeding the fear limit means instant death. The one “madman” from the psychiatric hospital, however, becomes the wild card capable of breaking all the rules.
The protagonist, Shen Wang, was labeled “crazy” because of childhood trauma and confined to a psychiatric hospital for ten years. When the game instance [Bloodstained Ward] engulfs the hospital, his fellow patients break down and scream beneath the crushing rules. But Shen Wang looks at the rules scrawled across the walls in blood and bursts out laughing. The “insane missions” that normal people avoid at all costs are simply how he has always thought.
Inside the instance, NPCs posing as doctors try to make him “accept treatment and return to normal.” Shen Wang instead tears apart the fake examination table with his bare hands and tightens a bloodstained bandage around an NPC's throat. “Normal? What kind of worthless crap is that?” He locks the instance's boss in the electroshock room and turns the tables, tormenting it in return. He turns the “dangerous behavior” flagged by the System into absurd pranks. As he cuts a deranged figure, his white coat splattered with blood, the comments on the worldwide livestream change from “This guy won't last three seconds” to “Please carry us, big brother!”
As the game encroaches on reality, Shen Wang discovers that his “madness” is the key to fighting the supernatural. The game's core “rules of absolute rationality” are riddled with loopholes in his fragmented mind. While other players are trapped by the moral dilemma of “saving others or saving themselves,” he can push NPCs and players alike into a “life-or-death gamble” without a second thought.
