He spent two years being tormented in a lightless room, and learned to hide his sharp edges and act obedient in exchange for freedom. In his tenth year abroad, the family ran into trouble. On a flimsy pretext, they summoned him home to attend a party. After an accident led to a night together with the family’s sworn enemy, Lu Ze tossed him a document. “Sign this contract!” Su Yu was stunned. “Are you insane? It was just a one-night stand, and now you want to marry me?” Lu Ze said, “If you don't sign, I can make the Su Group go bankrupt tomorrow.” Su Yu gritted his teeth. “It's just a marriage alliance. Don't take it seriously.” But Lu Ze gripped his chin and sneered. “Second Young Master Su, you owe me from ten years ago. It's time to pay up.” Su Yu asked, “What are you talking about? Do we know each other?” Su Yu was locked in a dark room once more. The chain around his ankle had long been removed, but the shackles on his soul had never been undone. When the nightmare returned, Su Yu trembled and struggled in the darkness, his every disguise stripped away. “Lu Ze, I hate you!” Su Yu thought their marriage alliance was an act of revenge, unaware that he had been the one Lu Ze had treasured for ten years. “The marriage alliance is fake. My love for you is real.” When Su Yu opened Lu Ze's shirt and saw the scar from the knife wound he had taken for him, he finally understood: the cruelest scheme in the world was to spend ten years waiting for someone who had forgotten you to turn back. “Lu Ze, what do you want from me?” “I want that one glance you gave me while playing the piano all those years ago. It was enough to drive me crazy for the rest of my life.”
