Different pieces (pawn, rook, knight, cannon, bishop/elephant, advisor, and king/general) represent different paths of cultivation, divine abilities, and roles.
Why is the world a chess game? Who is moving the pieces? An ancient mighty being? The laws of Heaven? Or something even more terrifying?
