The Regent’s Cherished Darling: The Princess Consort Is Acting Frail Again

Shen Miaoyan is breathtakingly beautiful. She coughs every few steps and wheezes every few more, earning a reputation as the sickly young lady of the General’s Manor. Then, in one fell swoop, she is betrothed to Xiao Jingheng, the cold-faced, notorious Prince Regent known as the Living Yama. Just as everyone is pitying this delicate flower, certain she’ll meet her end at the Prince Regent’s Manor, rumors begin to spread of the Prince Regent being forced by his princess consort to kneel on a washboard… From the heroine’s perspective: I’d planned to be a carefree couch potato and enjoy the rest of my life. What?! An arranged marriage! And to that Prince Regent, of all people! Fine. What’s meant to come can’t be avoided. If you won’t let me take it easy, I’ll make sure you don’t have it easy either! (From then on, peace never returned to the Prince Regent’s Manor.) From the hero’s perspective (secretly in love): It’s been so long, but my Yanyan is still as captivating as ever. (Expressionless on the outside, completely lovestruck inside.) Heroine Shen Miaoyan: A “sickly beauty” on the surface, but with maxed-out martial arts and intelligence (for outsmarting others and protecting herself). She has perfected the art of acting weak and enjoys “playing the pig to eat the tiger.” After marriage, she devotes herself to “teasing” the Prince Regent while keeping her persona intact. Hero Xiao Jingheng: The “Living Yama” to the outside world, but a giant loyal puppy at home. Before marriage, he’s a lovesick innocent with a secret crush; after marriage, he becomes the poster boy for henpecked husbands. His life motto: The Princess Consort is always right, and all that matters is that she’s happy.
