Echoes of the End: Slaying Gods in the Doomsday Asylum

## **Synopsis (298 words)**

> When the Patient Handbook at Qingshan Psychiatric Hospital becomes a set of rules for killing, Lin Jin awakens the Echo of Death amid a pool of blood. Each time he dies, time rewinds ten minutes, but he loses part of his humanity.

>

> **Chen Wang, a deranged fellow patient,** claims to be the Creator God, with tendrils capable of devouring the Swallowed Star hidden in his sleeve. **Shen Zhao, fitted with a mechanical prosthetic,** has a blueprint for a god-slaying weapon embedded in her left arm; activating it costs her emotional memories. **Atal, a low-dimensional AI,** exploits loopholes in the rules from a corner of the ward, while the reflection of the 999-tier Tower of the End appears behind him.

>

> To uncover the truth behind his younger sister’s death, Lin Jin leads the others up the tower against its rules:

> - At the **Deep-Sea Opera House**, Beethoven is used to suppress Cthulhu’s singers.

> - In the **Great Xia Strange Dynasty**, rules written in classical Chinese are forged into a sword for survival.

> - Deep in the **Quantum Graveyard**, he clashes with his own clone.

>

> When they reach the top, a light screen reveals the cruel truth: the so-called gods are the collective embodiment of humanity’s despair, and Shen Zhao’s god-slaying spear is aimed at Lin Jin’s heart.

>

> **“To destroy the old pantheon, trap the new gods forever in a temporal amber.”**

>

> A rusted candy tin falls from Chen Wang’s hand. The dawn of a new world shines through the hospital’s iron-barred windows, and the Tower of the End rings out its final echo: “Do you want a perfect world, or true love?”
