The protagonist, Chen Changsheng, accidentally binds himself to the Civilization Kindling System and takes on the mission of spreading, improving, and igniting the sparks of civilization in worlds across the heavens that are on the brink of collapse or stagnation. He is no mere plunderer or conqueror, but a “doctor,” “gardener,” or “firestarter” of civilizations. Every world has its own unique predicament, and he must adapt to local conditions, using his wisdom, knowledge, and the abilities granted by the System to guide civilization toward new possibilities. The power systems vary, but at the heart of it all is the evolution and survival of civilization.
