The story takes place in the modern city of Nanjiang. On the outskirts stands the abandoned Minghui Tower, deserted for twenty years. Two decades ago, a bizarre fire there killed chairman Shen Minghui and his wife, while their only daughter, Shen Nianqiu, disappeared. Ever since, rumors have shrouded the tower, making it part of the city’s urban legends. Now, the building is about to be demolished, but an unidentified woman’s corpse is discovered just before the demolition, triggering a series of mysterious events.
